As legislative affairs director, Leigh Jackson is responsible for representing priorities, initiatives and interests of the N.C. Department of Transportation and coordinating with industry partners to drive legislative change within state and federal government.
She joined NCDOT in May 2022 after working as a liaison for constituent services at the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles Commissioner’s Office from 2016-2017. In this role, she gained an intimate understanding of public service.
She also spent four years as the legislative liaison and change management coordinator at the N.C. Department of Information Technology, where she developed public lobbying experience.
In addition, she also brings experience in program and operations management from the private sector.
Jackson holds a Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public and Interpersonal Communications from N.C. State University.
A North Carolina native, she resides with her three young daughters and husband in Johnston County.
