- Improvements to I-40 interchanges at Airport Boulevard and Aviation Parkway
- Interchange improvements at N.C. 86
- Widening of I-40 from Hillsborough to Durham County
Future Improvements include:
- Interchange improvements at I-440/U.S. 1/U.S. 64
- Ramp Metering added from N.C. 54 in Chapel Hill to Wade Avenue in Raleigh
