​Planning and development are underway to build a bypass between Polkton and Lilesville in Anson County. Work would help improve traffic congestion near Wadesboro, while increasing traffic flow and freight transportation between Charlotte and Wilmington.

Project Funding

This project is listed as Project R-5878 in the N.C. Department of Transportation's State Transportation Improvement Program. Section A is currently unfunded and Section B is funded for $169.7 million
