Project Overview
The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to widen exactly 2.5 miles of Gordon Road from Interstate 40 to Market Street (U.S. 17 Business) in New Hanover County.
The purpose of the project is to improve capacity and reduce traffic congestion along Gordon Road. It is also intended to aid in managing the population growth that the Wilmington area has been experiencing over the past few years.
Project Funding
This project is listed as Project U-6202 in the N.C. Department of Transportation's State Transportation Improvement Program and is funded for $25.2 million for construction.
