The N.C. Department of Transportation is planning to widen Evans Street/Old Tar Road, which connects Greenville and Winterville in Pitt County. 

By widening the road to four lanes from the intersection of Cooper Street and Worthington Road in Winterville to N.C. 43/U.S. 264A (Greenville Boulevard) in Greenville, the proposed work would help ease traffic congestion and improve safety.
