The N.C. Department of Transportation's Student Volunteer Program gives students considering careers in transportation the opportunity to explore fields of interest and to learn about areas that might be unfamiliar.
The program offers flexible schedules to accommodate the needs of both students and NCDOT. There is not a minimum number of hours required, and participants can volunteer around school and other obligations.
NCDOT reserves the right to deny volunteer experience during times of unusually high workloads or when a student volunteer experience might cause extreme inefficiencies in the workplace and impede normal business operations.
