​Andrew
Perkins joined the N.C. Board of Transportation in 2003.
He is
Assistant Vice Chancellor for Facilities and Engineering at North Carolina
Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. Prior to that
appointment, he served as the university engineer. Before joining North
Carolina A&T, Perkins retired with the rank of colonel from the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers after 29 years of distinguished service.
Originally
from the Tidewater area of Hampton, Va., Perkins received his Bachelor of
Science in architecture from Hampton University and his Master of Science in
architecture from the University of Wisconsin. He is also a graduate of The
National War College in Washington, D.C.
