Project Overview
Planning and development are underway on a proposed project in Wake County to build a median-divided four-lane road that would extend N.C. 147 south of I-540 in Morrisville.
The proposed work would improve traffic flow and could provide a connection between Davis Drive, the Research Triangle Park, I-540 and Morrisville. The project has the potential to reduce travel times and distance in the area.
By providing an important connection in Morrisville, the proposed project would also reduce the amount of traffic congestion on the existing roadways and improve overall roadway efficiency and volume.
This project will be reprioritized for funding in the next State Transportation Improvement Program. A schedule for right of way, utilities and/or construction has not been finalized at this time. However, preliminary engineering activities (design, planning, environmental studies) needed for project development are underway.
