This proposed improvement project would involve widening N.C. 109 and other improvements between Old Greensboro Road in Davidson County and I-40/U.S. 311 in Forsyth County.

This section of N.C. 109 carries as many as 19,000 vehicles per day, and traffic is estimated to increase to 30,000 vehicles per day by 2035. Proposed improvements would help reduce crashes and congestion in the area.

Project Funding

Based on the results of NCDOT's funding formula, this project is not currently funded in State Transportation Improvement Plan. All work on the project has been concluded, and the project is no longer active. If the project is funded at a later date, updates will be posted to this page.
