The N.C. Department of Transportation invited the public to attend an information webinar session on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 about the state’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program deployment plan.
The NEVI program provides nearly $5 billion to create a network of 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations along designated alternative fuel corridors. North Carolina expects to receive up to $109 million to build electric vehicle infrastructure along its approved corridors.
During the webinar, updates about the state’s deployment plan were provided and information on upcoming roundtables and open house events.
This presentation was intended to provide a high-level understanding of the process that NCDOT will use to implement the program, including opportunities for direct engagement through a series of in-person stakeholder meetings. While the public was welcome to attend, the focus of this presentation is for the people, organizations and businesses wanting to learn more about involvement in the NEVI program implementation.
