Proposal for Bridge Replacement at Sheppard Mill Road Over Dan River - Stokes County

7/18/2023 7:00 PM

STIP Number B-5766

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to replace the bridge on Sheppard Mill Road over the Dan River in Stokes County.

The bridge has become structurally deficient. The fact that a bridge is "structurally deficient" does not imply that it is likely to collapse or that it is unsafe. It means the bridge must be monitored, inspected and repaired/replaced at an appropriate time to maintain its structural integrity.

A public meeting is scheduled for:

Tuesday, July 18, 2023
4-7 p.m.
The Arts Place
502 Main St.
Danbury

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the proposed project and gather input on the proposed design. The public can view project information, submit comments and receive email updates at NCDOT's public input portal.
