RALEIGH- Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation expect to close Beryl Road at Interstate 440 for about a month so crews can safely conduct bridgework as part of the I-440 improvements project.
Work will begin April 21 near midnight and is expected to be finished by May 19.
Eastbound Beryl Road will detour to Pylon Drive, Hutton Street to Ligon Street, Blue Ridge Road, Western Boulevard, Method Road back to eastbound Beryl Road.
Traffic for westbound Beryl Road will detour to Method Road and Western Boulevard and then choose to use Blue Ridge or Powell Drive to access points on Beryl Road.
Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
