Onslow County Intersection to Become an All-Way Stop

HOLLY RIDGE – A three-legged intersection in Onslow County will be converted into an all-way stop next week to improve safety.

On the morning of Feb. 24, the N.C. Department of Transportation will install stop signs and pavement markings on Holly Ridge Road and also on Sound Road where they intersect Morris Landing Road. Drivers on Morris Landing Road currently have to stop at this intersection.

Drivers should be alert in this area while crews work to install the new traffic pattern. This work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled.

After a safety review, which includes examining traffic volumes and crash patterns, NCDOT determined an all-way stop was the most cost-effective way to improve safety at the intersection. To learn more about an all-way stop, visit this webpage.
