Enhancements Coming to Dozens of Wake County Roads

WAKE- Driving on 18 miles of roadway including a section of N.C. 98 in Wake Forest is set to become a smoother ride thanks to a contract recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Carolina Sunrock LLL out of Raleigh has been awarded a 4.3 million contract to upgrade about 3 miles of N.C. 98 to the east of U.S. 1 and 60 sections of secondary roads in Wake County.

They will be responsible for improvements such as milling, resurfacing, and shoulder reconstruction. In addition to N.C. 98, Litchford Road from Falls of Neuse Road to the dead end past Upland Court and Old Wake Forest Road from Wake Forest Road to Township Circle will see upgrades along with other smaller roads in North Raleigh.

Work can begin as early as March and finish in late fall of 2025.
