Rowan County Road Closing for Bridge Replacement

CEDAR SPRINGS – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close a road in Rowan County for about four months for a bridge replacement project.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on July 22, Airport Road will be closed to allow crews to construct a new bridge that carries traffic over Grants Creek. The closure is anticipated to last until late November 2024.

During this period, drivers are advised to follow a designated detour route using U.S. 29 to Rowan Mill Rd to N.C.150. Signage will be in place to guide drivers around the closure.

Drivers are advised to use extra caution and plan accordingly for delays due to the detour.
