Closures Scheduled for U.S. 52 in Forsyth County

WINSTON SALEM – Contract crews plan to begin pavement rehabilitation work today, which will require intermittent lane closures throughout the summer.

Starting Monday, drivers should expect closures in both directions of U.S. 52 between King (Exit 112) and Akron Road (Exit 123). Various locations along this stretch will be closed so crews can replace broken pavement slabs enhancing safety and road quality for drivers. This work and associated closures will be weather dependent each day.

Due to concrete curing times, the timing of lane closures will vary. Southbound closures are anticipated to be removed before the morning traffic rush. However, closures affecting the northbound direction may impact evening rush hour traffic.

The department advises drivers to plan for potential delays, remember this is an active work zone and be mindful of crews improving the roadways throughout the area.
