RALEIGH – Thanks to a recent $4.7 million award by the N.C. Department of Transportation, Barnhill Contracting Co. of Rocky Mount will oversee improvements to 17.6 miles of roadway in Wake County.
One major project for this contract will be to improve Hillsborough Street between Blue Ridge Road and Powell Drive. Powell Drive near the intersection of Hillsborough Street, will undergo milling, resurfacing and shoulder repairs.
In addition, 14 secondary roads will also be repaved under this contract.
Work can begin as early as next March, and the contract will have until 2026 to complete all the improvements.
