GREENVILLE – As work to improve more than a mile of Dickinson Avenue in Greenville continues, contract crews will close an intersection for more than a month.
Beginning Aug. 26, the intersection of Dickinson Avenue and Moye Boulevard/ Hooker Road will close. Weather permitting, the area will reopen to vehicles and pedestrians about seven weeks later.
During the closure, crews will upgrade the waterline, drainage, sidewalk and roadway.
People needing to get around the closure and access Hooker Road will be directed to use Memorial Drive and Arlington Boulevard.
This work is part of the efforts between the N. C. Department of Transportation and the city of Greenville to improve Dickinson Avenue. To read more about the project, visit the project website.
