CHAPEL HILL- An interchange in Durham County now bears the name of former and longtime Congressman David Price.
Gov. Roy Cooper and Congresswomen Valerie Foushee and Deborah Ross joined state and local officials at Chapel Hill Town Hall on Tuesday morning to name the Interstate 40 interchange at U.S. 15-501 (Exit 270) near the Orange County line for Price.
Price dedicated 34 years of service to North Carolina's 4th Congressional District over two stints beginning in 1987, prior to which he was a respected professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Duke University.
Tuesday's honor comes after Cooper presented Price with the North Carolina Award, the state's highest civilian honor, in November 2023 for his contributions to the state and nation.
