Public Meeting for Greenway Extenstion in Asheville

​ASHEVILLE — The N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public meeting for a proposed project to construct the Wilma Dykeman Greenway Extension from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at The Cloud Room, 5 Foundy St. 

The project involves the construction of a new 1.3-mile section of the Wilma Dykeman Greenway along N.C. 251 from near Hill Street to Pearson Bridge Road.​​​

This greenway will provide an important northern connection in the larger trail network that makes up the River Arts District Transportation Improvement Project (RADTIP). The project is being locally administered by the City of Asheville with administrative oversight and project delivery being conducted by NCDOT.

Project information will be available for the public to view and discuss with the project team during the informal, drop-in style meeting.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled people who wish to participate in this meeting.
