RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a section of Western Boulevard again multiple nights so crews can safely set girders on the new Interstate 440 East bridge over Western Boulevard, weather permitting.
Crews will close Western Boulevard between Blue Ridge and Chaney roads from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning, weather permitting. Both directions of Western Boulevard will be closed on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Just westbound lanes will be closed on Wednesday and Friday.
Westbound Western Boulevard traffic will detour to I-440 East. exit at Hillsborough Street, then take I-440 West back to Western Boulevard.
