BANNER ELK - A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation has updated next week’s schedule for the N.C. 105 bridge project in Watauga County.
Crews do not intend to stop traffic as has been the case in previous weeks, but flaggers may be used early in the week to assist trucks in and out of the work zone.
From July 1 through July 3, crews from Wright Brother’s Construction Company Inc. will haul rock and debris from the slopes adjacent to the roadway in large trucks.
Additionally, crews from Blue Ridge Electric will begin pulling power lines for relocation beginning next week. Any stopped or flagged traffic associated with this work will be brief.
Beginning July 4, all work will be halted on the project for holiday travel until the beginning the following week.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when approaching the work zone and utilize DriveNC.gov for real-time traffic updates.
