HILLSBOROUGH– An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close a portion of a road in Orange County for about four months for a bridge widening project.
Beginning at 11 p.m. on March 10, Millhouse Road will be closed near New Jericho Road and Cell Tower Drive to allow crews to safely widen the existing Interstate 40 bridges over Millhouse Road. This work is part of the I-40 project to widen the highway from four lanes to six. Work on this section is expected to be complete in July.
During the closure a signed detour will guide drivers around the closure utilizing Eubanks Road and N.C. 86.
Motorists are advised to use extra caution and plan accordingly for delays due to the detour.
