​WINSTON-SALEM - Contract crews for the N.C. Department of Transportation will perform overnight lane closures on a stretch of U.S. 52.
Beginning at 9 p.m. this evening, crews will close one lane on U.S. 52 between Liberty Street and Interstate 40 for pavement joint repairs.
The lane closures will alternate between northbound and southbound directions and will also alternate between left and right lanes.
All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.
This schedule will continue until June 8, weather permitting.
Message boards are on-site directing motorists. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and use caution when approaching the work zone.
