RALEIGH – Lane and ramp closures are set to be installed tonight so crews can safely work on the project to improve the pavement on Interstate 540 between U.S. 70 (Glenwood Avenue) and Triangle Town Boulevard.
Starting at 9 tonight, a single right lane closure will be installed on I-540 West from N.C. 50 (Creedmoor Road) to Leesville Road. This will expand to a closure of the two right lanes from 10 p.m. until 5 tomorrow morning.
Also during this time period, the ramp from N.C. 50 to I-540 West and the ramp from I-540 West to Leesville Road (Exit 7) will close. Detours will utilize the Six Forks and U.S. 70 exits, respectively, during these ramp closures.
Drivers should be cautious as crews will be working alongside the travel lanes in this area, and allow extra time for the detours.
