CLAYTON- Construction crews will need to close a section of Interstate 40 overnight from U.S 70 (exit 309) to N.C. 42 (exit 312) to work on bridge demolition.
Weather permitting, I-40 East will close at 10 p.m. and reopen Tuesday morning at 5.
All traffic will detour at U.S. 70 East and take N.C. 42 West back to I-40 East.
Drivers should anticipate delays and use caution when approaching the work zone and follow instructions of flaggers and on-site law enforcement.
