Additional Section of Greenville Road to Close for Construction

GREENVILLE – As construction to improve Dickinson Avenue in Greenville ramps up, the N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close another section of the roadway.

Beginning April 1, Section 3 of the project, between Skinner Street and the railroad overpass will close. The closure is anticipated to last about three months.

Crews will install a new waterline and sidewalk and resurface the road.

Businesses will remain open to the public, but drivers can avoid construction by taking Memorial Drive, 10th Street and Evans Street. Drivers should take the detour into account when planning their commute and use caution near the work zone.

Earlier this month, crews began construction on Section 6, in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Ficklen Street.
