RALEIGH – Contract crews plan to temporarily close a ramp to Interstate 440 starting this weekend as part of the ongoing Beltline improvements project.
The ramp from Western Boulevard to westbound I-440 is set to close at 9 p.m. Friday and remain closed for nine days – a duration that is weather dependent and subject to change. This closure is needed for crews to safely reconstruct the ramp and a portion of the new outer lanes of the Beltline south of Western Boulevard.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured up I-440 East to the Hillsborough Street interchange to access I-440 West.
Drivers should factor this detour into their upcoming trips and be mindful of the crews throughout the work zone.
