MORRISVILLE – Overnight closures are scheduled to continue this week on Interstate 40 as part of ongoing work on the new Airport Boulevard bridge.
Weather permitting, I-40 East will be closed at Airport Boulevard from midnight to 5 a.m. Wednesday and both directions of the interstate will be closed during the same hours Thursday and Friday mornings.
Traffic will be detoured to exit at Airport Boulevard and then get right back onto I-40.
NCDOT officials remind drivers to remain alert, obey all posted traffic signs and drive with caution in work zones and along detours.
