DURHAM- Two major roads and 31 sections of secondary roads will see improvements thanks to a $4.64 million award from the North Carolina Department of Transportation to Carolina Sunrock, LLC out of Raleigh.
N.C. 54 from Fayetteville Road to N.C. 55, two sections of N.C. 98 from Hocutt Road to east of Lynn Road as well as from west of North Hoover Road to west of Lynn Road, along with 31 sections of secondary roads, will see milling, resurfacing, and shoulder reconstruction.
Construction can begin as early as spring 2024 and finish up in late 2025.
Transportation officials remind drivers to remain alert, obey all posted traffic signs and follow instructions of local law enforcement in active work zones.
