ROCKY MOUNT – The Greensboro Driver License Express office at the historic J. Douglas Gaylon Depot in Greensboro will permanently close at 5 p.m. on Nov. 22.
The office, at 236 E. Washington St., has offered express services such as driver license renewals, duplicate licenses, state-issued ID card issuances, REAL ID renewals, and address changes to walk-in customers since July 2019.
This express location has been staffed by examiners rotating out of the two full-service driver license offices in Greensboro, so while this office is closing, the same number of examiners will be serving the Gate City going forward, just at one less location.
The two full-service driver license offices in Greensboro accept appointments from 7 a.m.-12 p.m., and walk-in customers from 12-5 p.m. Monday through Friday:
• Greensboro, 2527 E. Market St.
• Greensboro, 2391 Coliseum Blvd.
