Work for NCDOT: Hiring Event Set for Oct. 24

​​​HENDERSON – The N.C. Department of Transportation is holding a hiring event next week to fill a total of 11 transportation worker jobs. Ten of these are in Franklin County, and one is in Vance County.  Six auto mechanic jobs need to be filled in the following counties: Person, Granville, Vance, and Franklin.

People can apply, be screened and interview during the event, set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the NCWorks Career Center, 826 S. Garnett St. in Henderson. A similar event held recently in Durham resulted in a dozen candidates being hired. 

“We are excited to partner with NCWorks to host this hiring event for our 17 openings, and help job seekers in the area begin a great career start with NCDOT,” said Jonathan Arnold, NCDOT Division 5 Division Road maintenance engineer. “We are looking for qualified candidates who are passionate about making a difference in their community.”

Workstations will be available for candidates to apply at the event and computers will be reserved for military veterans, who will receive preference in the hiring process.
