Alston Avenue Widening Project

​​DURHAM – South Alston Avenue between Angier Avenue and N.C. 147 will close daily starting Oct. 9 through Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. for the construction of a new railroad bridge, weather permitting.

In addition, crews plan to close Alston Avenue again from Oct. 16 through Oct. 20 to continue work on the bridge during the same hours of 9 a.m. until 4. p.m..

Drivers will be directed toward detours using Main Street and the Fayetteville Street Exit (Exit 3A) of N.C. 147 with the exception of Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.  These days you will need to detour to N.C. 147 to Roxboro Street to Main Street.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
