GATES – An all-way stop will be installed this week to improve safety at a Gates County crossroads.
State transportation crews will make the traffic change between Wednesday and Friday at Gates School Road and Water Plant Road near the town of Gates. The work will include rumble strips to warn traffic on Gates School Road. Previously, only motorists on Water Plant Road had to stop at the intersection.
Drivers should slow down and use caution in this intersection.
The decision to install a four-way stop was based on a safety review and crash patterns.
