HOLDEN BEACH – A contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation will improve more than six miles of Ocean Boulevard.
The Brunswick County road between Shell and Dunescape drives will be resurfaced and widened to add marked bike lanes on both sides of the road. Work can start this fall and is expected to take one year to complete.
Last month, NCDOT awarded the $5.2 million contract to Highland Paving Co. LLC of Fayetteville.
