Ride the Train to the Canes Game
After a
record-breaking year in ridership,
NC By Train, the state’s intercity passenger rail service, continues to move people to places they need and want to go - that includes getting Carolina Hurricanes fans to Raleigh.
Stormy, the Canes’ mascot, and NC By Train are encouraging fans to take the train to the Canes’ outdoor game against the Washington Capitals on Feb. 18 at Carter Finley Stadium.

Booze It & Lose It Gets New Start
The
Governor’s Highway Safety Program is renewing its efforts to eliminate impaired driving in North Carolina.
GHSP is
revamping its Booze It & Lose It program with new communication, partnerships, tools and training and will test the fresh campaign across a seven-county region in the western part of the state.
Officials will review the success of the strategies that started in January and will run them as pilot programs over the course of the year.
NC Ferry Division Receives Grant
The North Carolina State Shipyard will be getting a
facelift thanks to a $1.3 million grant.
The money, from the U.S. Federal Transit Administration’s Ferry Service for Rural program, will improve lighting and paint at the shipyard in Manns Harbor.
