GRAHAM – A pair of local bridge replacement projects are set to begin soon.
In Alamance County, Durham Street Extension is scheduled to be closed just south of Routh Road, near Elon, for about six months starting at 9 a.m. Monday. Drivers will be detoured along Macarthur Lane, N.C. 87/Ossipee Road and Routh Road to access points on either side of the work zone during the closure.
In Orange County, New Hope Church Road is set to be closed just west of Interstate 40 for about four months, starting May 2. A detour will have drivers use I-40 and Old N.C. 86 to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should be mindful of the posted signage in these areas and of crews entering and exiting these work zones over the coming months.
