WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will continue maintenance and construction along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County this week, weather permitting.
The following lane closures are scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- Tonight, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from east of Union Cross Road to the Guilford County Line.
- On Oct. 25-26, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from the Guilford County Line to Union Cross Road.
- On Oct. 27, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from High Point Road to the I-74/U.S. 311 interchange.
- On Oct. 27, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from just west of U.S. 52 to Stratford Road.
On Oct. 28 at 8 p.m., the right lane of the Exit 188 ramp from I-40 West to U.S. 421 North will be closed to enable construction crews to make repairs to the bridge deck that is located on the exit. The lane is expected to reopen by 11 p.m. on Oct. 30.
On Oct. 28 at 8 p.m., the right lane of the Exit 238 ramp from U.S. 421 South towards I-40 East will be closed to enable construction crews to make repairs to the bridge deck that is located on the exit. The lane is expected to reopen by 11 p.m. Oct. 30.
In conjunction with the lane closure the exit loop onto I-40 East from the connector ramp between U.S. 421 and I-40 West will also be closed during the same dates and times with a detour.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
