GARNER – A road in southeast Wake County is closed while crews assess an issue with a bridge approach and make a repair.
Crews closed Raynor Road at Whiteoak Creek on Tuesday after a void was discovered under the pavement near the bridge.
State transportation officials continue to assess the extent of the damage and will not have a definitive timeline on how long the closure will last until this process is complete. For the time being, traffic is being directed to use U.S. 70 Business and White Oak Road to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and allow ample time for the detour.
