DUBLIN – A roundabout that opened in 2020 south of Dublin is scheduled to temporarily close Wednesday for the installation of street lighting.
The N.C. Department of Transportation opened the roundabout at N.C. 41 and N.C. 410 under a $1.76 million construction contract awarded in 2019. Roundabouts improve safety and traffic flow, as this NCDOT webpage explains.
To further enhance safety, another contractor will install street lighting in the roundabout and on the four approaches to the circular intersection. To expediate work and keep the traveling public and the crews safe, the NCDOT will close the roundabout from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday to complete the lighting improvements.
Marked signs will direct N.C. 41 drivers to N.C. 131 and Center Road. Motorists on N.C. 410 will be directed to Pleasant Grove Church Road.
