Closures Planned Along I-40 in Forsyth County

​WINSTON-SALEM – Starting tonight, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will schedule several nightly closures for the ongoing improvement project along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County, weather permitting.

Starting tonight through Dec. 2, the following nightly lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

  • Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 West from west of Peters Creek Parkway to Stratford Road.
  • One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 East from west of N.C. 66 to east of N.C. 66.

​The following ramp closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:

  • Tonight, the I-40 East off-ramp to N.C. 66 will be closed with a signed detour. 
  • On the nights of Dec. 1-3, the ramp onto I-40 East from N.C. 66 will be closed with a signed detour. This ramp will also be closed Dec. 4 from midnight to 5 p.m. with a signed detour.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
