FOUR OAKS – Webb Mill Road at Lake Levinson, south of Four Oaks, will close Monday morning to allow a new bridge to be built.
The 67-year-old bridge has reached the end of its normal lifespan, becoming functionally obsolete and requiring more maintenance. A contractor will demolish the existing bridge and erect a modern structure.
The detour will send motorists onto Stewart Road, Keen Road and N.C. 96.
The new bridge is scheduled to open to traffic next March.
