RALEIGH – Thanks to a new $4.24 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation, a 1.6-mile stretch of Capital Boulevard between Thornton Road and Burlington Mills Road will be resurfaced.
Under the same contract, awarded to Fred Smith Company of Raleigh, an additional 20.8 miles of state-maintained roads throughout northern Wake County will also be resurfaced.
Work can begin as soon as Aug. 2 and must be complete by Nov. 30, 2022.
