WINSTON-SALEM – Work on the Interstate 40 improvements in Forsyth County is set to occur in several locations over the coming week.
Weather permitting, there will be ramp and lane closures in these areas from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting on the following days.
June 27-30 – Two of three lanes on I-40 East will be closed from the U.S. 421/I-40 split (mile marker 188) to just east of Hanes Mall Boulevard (mile marker 190)
June 27- July 1 – The Peters Creek ramp to I-40 West will be closed to perform bridge maintenance. A signed detour will have drivers take I-40 East to exit 103B in order to merge onto I-40 West.
June 28-30 – One of two lanes will be closed on Buchannan Street where it runs under I-40.
July 1 – Two of three lanes on I-40 West will be closed beginning just west of U.S. 52 (mile marker 193) to east of Peters Creek Parkway (mile marker 192)
Drivers should remain cautious and slow down in these work areas as crews will be working near the flow of traffic and factor detour into their commutes.
