LEXINGTON – A drainage pipe under a Davidson County road has failed and the road will be closed for a couple weeks while the pipe is replaced.
N.C. Department of Transportation crews closed Arnold Road between Conrad Sowers and Hoover roads today after discovering the failed pipe created a cavity under both travel lanes.
The repair work is being expedited; it should begin this Wednesday and be complete by July 2, weather permitting. Until that time, drivers are advised to use Conrad Sowers and Hoover roads to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers are urged to be cautious near this work zone and allow extra time for the detour.
