ROCKWELL – A portion of a Rowan County road is set to close next week while crews make an essential drainage repair.
A culvert that crosses under St. Peters Church Road about a mile north of U.S. 52 has failed and must be replaced to ensure stormwater does not damage the roadway and surrounding properties.
The work will require closing St. Peters Church Road at this location May 24-28, weather permitting.
During this time, drivers will be detoured to follow Hill Road, Liberty Road and U.S. 52 to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should be cautious near the work zone and allow extra time for the detour.
