WINSTON-SALEM – Crews have a full schedule planned for the week ahead for the Interstate 40 pavement rehabilitation and bridge preservation project in Forsyth County.
To conduct the work safely, the following lane closures will be in place nightly on I-40 West, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
- Sunday, the contractor is scheduled to close two of three lanes from just east of Hanes Mall Boulevard (mile marker 190) to the U.S. 421/I-40 split (mile marker 188).
- Sunday-Tuesday, the contractor is scheduled to close one of two lanes from the Guilford County line (mile marker 205) to Union Cross Road (mile marker 200).
- Monday-Wednesday, the contractor is scheduled to close one of three lanes from just west of Jonestown Road (mile marker 186) to the bridges over Muddy Creek (mile marker 185).
- Wednesday-Thursday, the contractor is scheduled to close one of two lanes from High Point Road (mile marker 198) to I-74 (mile marker 195).
There will also be a single-lane closure during the same nighttime hours Sunday through Thursday on Hanes Mall Boulevard for drivers headed south near I-40.
Drivers should obey posted signage in the work zones and be mindful of crews working close to the travel lanes in these areas.
