NCDOT Accepting Public Input Gaston County Bridge Replacement

DALLAS – The N.C. Department of Transportation is accepting public input for an ongoing bridge project in Gaston County from April 28 until May 13.

NCDOT plans to replace the 68-year-old bridge on N.C. 275 (Dallas Stanley Highway) that carries traffic over the South Fork Catawba River after determining it has become structurally deficient. The proposed $6.16 million project will expand the 10-foot travel lanes to 12-foot travel lanes with 2-foot paved shoulders. A temporary bridge will also be built at the southside of the existing bridge for traffic detours, but the existing bridge will remain open during construction. Construction is expected to start in winter 2022 and complete by 2024.

Due to current conditions, in-person public meetings have been suspended, but citizens are encouraged to review project information and submit public input at https://publicinput.com/NC275-Dallas. Comments may also be submitted by email at NC275-Dallas@PublicInput.com or by phone at 855-925-2801 (code 8159).
