DANBURY – State transportation contractors have closed part of a Stokes County road to begin realigning an intersection this week.
Pitzer Road is expected to be closed between Davis Chapel Church Road and Dodgetown Road until Dec. 23. The closure will allow crews to safely construct a new alignment for the intersection of Pitzer and Dodgetown roads.
During this time, traffic will be
detoured to follow Duggins Road, N.C. 772 and Dodgetown Road.
Local traffic will still be able to use Davis Chapel Church Road, and Dodgetown Road will be restricted to one lane throughout the length of the project.
Drivers should slow down and be cautious near the work zone and plan ahead for the detour.
