THOMASVILLE – State transportation contractors plan to close an Interstate 85 ramp for two overnight periods this week.
The ramp from N.C. 109/Randolph Street onto southbound I-85 is set to close from 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday and again during the same hours from Friday evening to Saturday morning. The closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
Closing the ramp will allow crews to safely perform preservation work on the bridge over the CSX railroad track.
While the ramp is closed, traffic will be
detoured to follow I-85 North to Finch Farm Road to access I-85 South.
Drivers should be cautious near the work zone and allow extra time for the detour.
